Swallow Site Report

We are pleased to announce the Swallow Site Oversight Committee has completed and released the final report on the Swallow Site located on Ken-Caryl Ranch, Jefferson County, Colorado. The Denver Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society led the decade-long investigation at the Swallow Site with the help of many CAS member volunteers.

Kevin Johnson is Chair of the Department of History, Global, and Political Studies and Associate Professor of History and Global Studies at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. 2026 Annual CAS Conference

On October 2-5, 2026, the Hisatsinom Chapter will be hosting the 2026 Annual CAS Conference in Cortez, CO. at the Lamp Post Creative Learning Center, the Crow Canyon Campus and the Montezuma Heritage Museum. This year's meeting will be bigger than anything CAS has done in a long time with more field trips and symposiums. Saturday will be the regular meeting capped by the Keynote address by Joy Harjo, the 23rd US Poet Laureate. Registration will be open in early August.

The Community Connections Meetups are on Summer Break in the Field We anticipate that our 3rd Thursday meetups at locations around Denver will be starting back up this fall. Check back later this fall.
