A celebration of life, for Preston Niesen

A beloved member of the Colorado Archaeological Society, Preston Niesen, passed away on December 11, 2017, after a long battle with prostate cancer. His family would like to extend the invitation to help celebrate his life with them on May 26th, 2018, in Canopy Gap near Moab, in Utah. Welcome to the Colorado Archaeological Society’s Denver Chapter!

The Colorado Archaeological Society includes professional and avocational archaeologists as well as individuals interested in learning more about the practices and discoveries of archaeology.

The society encourages the study of Colorado archaeology and cooperates with state, academic, and other organizations.

We invite you to explore the Monthly Meeting section of our website to learn more about the Denver Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society’s monthly meetings.

The Denver Chapter of the Colorado Archaeology Society has regular meetings which feature expert archaeological talks, prehistoric and historic archaeological digs, archaeological surveys, and archaeological lab curation work. The Chapter also participates in educational events and trips related to archaeology. All Chapter activities are available to all members and appropriate training is provided by the Chapter. Membership is open to any person interested in archaeology and who is in agreement with our purposes and Code of Ethics.
